Making high quality mental healthcare accessible for everyone

Dr Meaghan Clough

I am a provisional psychologist with an Undergraduate in Behavioural Neuroscience (Psychology) from Monash University, a Masters of Psychology (Professional) from La Trobe University, and a Ph.D in Clinical Neuropsychology from Monash University.

I strongly believe that a good client-clinician relationship is essential for a person to achieve their therapeutic goals. As such I strive to create an open and non-judgemental space for people to share their unique perspectives and stories, and endeavour to tailor my delivery of evidence-based interventions to the needs and attributes of the individual.  I have worked with people across the lifespan with a broad range of issues, including, mood and anxiety disorders, grief/loss, trauma, domestic violence, ASD/ADHD, anger management.

In addition, for the past 15 years I have worked and continue to work within the psychology research sector. My work has primarily focused on investigating the impact of different neurological and psychology disorders on how a person processes information and uses it to inform their behaviour. This experience has given me a strong understanding of how the human brain functions, and it’s connection to how we think, feel and behave. Where possible, I try to bring this knowledge to my clinical practice, helping people to understand the role their brain plays in their problems.

My ultimate goal for all of my clients is to help them gain the knowledge and skills necessary for them to feel empowered and confident within themselves and to live the life they want to live.
